Wendy’s will replace old fries free of charge
Buying fries at your favorite fast food restaurant is always a gamble. A starchy snack fresh out of the deep fryer is a beautiful thing, but old fries that have been left in their own fat too long can ruin a meal. One chain is taking steps to ensure its customers never have to settle for fries that are past their prime. As Simplemost reports, if you get old fries at Wendy’s, the restaurant will replace them for free with a hot, crisp batch.
Wendy’s announced its guarantee of hot, crispy fries earlier in October, coinciding with the launch of its reformulated fries. The brand tested 20 different cuts of potatoes before choosing a shape with a thick side and a thin side for maximum crunchiness, heat retention and quenching capacity. The replacement guarantee gives every customer the opportunity to taste the fries as they are meant to be eaten.
Profiting from the new business practice is easy. If your fries look like they’ve seen better days (or minutes), take them back to the reception desk and ask them to replace them. The cashier should give you a fresh and searing order at no additional cost.
Wendy’s US Marketing Director Carl Loredo said in a press release: “[…]We’re dedicated to delivering hot, crispy fries with every order – if your fries aren’t hot and crisp when you receive them, we’ll replace them, no questions asked. “
The fast food industry is full of tips to optimize your order. Some McDonald’s stores offer free refill refills, and asking for a receipt is a sneaky way to get fresher food, according to some former McDonald’s employees.
