You could easily spend over £30 to feed the whole family – but there are ways to avoid paying the full price.

Consumer expert Tom Church, co-founder of deals site LatestDeals, shared his seven tips for spending less at Pizza Hut.

Some of his hacks can save you money with just a click – here’s everything you need to know.

Subscribe to the newsletter – save 20%

Chains often offer exclusive freebies and discounts to customers if they sign up for newsletters.

Pizza Hut is no exception – you will need to register on the chain’s website by adding a few personal details such as your email and phone number.

Joining could pay off, says Tom: “By being on the insider list, you can get special offers like 241 Pizza, 20% off and vouchers, including Kids Eat Free.”

Download the app – free pizza

You can get a free pizza by downloading the free Pizza Hut app through the App Store or Google Play.

On the app, you will find a section called the Huts Rewards program.

You’ll earn a ‘slice’ – or point – for every £10 you spend.

Then you can redeem your slices for free food once you have enough.

What you can get for free depends on how many slices you have saved.

You can get a free side if you save five and a free medium pizza if you save seven.

But that means you have to spend £50 and £70 respectively before you get your free snack.

Select key workers get 25% off meals

Those who work for the NHS, emergency services, social care sector and armed forces can qualify for a Blue Light Card.

This is where you can get discounts at stores, chains and more because you’re a key worker.

Pizza Hut is part of the program, and everything you need to register online for a blue light card and insert your unique code in your order (or show it to your server) to get 25% off.

How to get two-for-one pizzas

If you’re a Compare the Market customer, you can use the Meerkat Meals app to get two-for-one deals on pizza.

If you’ve purchased insurance, a credit card or other deal with the price comparison site, you get an annual subscription for Meerkat Meals – which offers two-for-one deals on meals at chains such as Pizza Hut.

Download the Meerkat Meals app, free to download from Google Play or the App Store, to redeem the offer.

But you need to spend at least £30 to get the discount.

“So if you’re planning a family meal, whether it’s a night out or a dinner out, you can save big after signing up for a great new broadband deal,” says Tom.

Discount programs – save 50%

Using restaurant discount programs can save you up to 50% on your bill.

For example, a Tastecard can get you two-for-one meals or 50% off food at a wide range of pubs and restaurants across the country, including Pizza Hut.

A subscription costs £34.99.

You must mention that you have a Tastecard subscription when booking a table in one of the chains participating in the program.

Present your card when you arrive at the restaurant to withdraw the money.

Look for discount codes – up to 50% off

If you’re ordering online for takeout, always be sure to look for discount codes.

The Latest Offers website contains pages for Pizza Hut Vouchers and delivery offersas well as HotUKDeals.

Some offers may allow you to get up to 50% off your order, but this will depend on the current offer at the time.

You should also check your email for any promotions if you sign up for the newsletter and also call your local branch.

Ask about gifts

You’ll want to make the most of the freebies already on offer at Pizza Hut, says Tom.

Customers can get unlimited refills on select soft drinks at vending machines, as well as at the chain’s Ice Cream Factory station.
