In pictures: here are 60 photos that give an idea of the bustling opening days of Documenta 15 in Kassel
Documenta 15 is not a room specifically designed for photos. There are some interesting pieces of art tucked away in its many locations across Kassel, but they certainly don’t set the tone. Instead, it is an exhibition of films, archives, educational materials and public programs.
During the press preview, many artists and groups of artists were still busy working on their installations. Many said they took the idea of a 100 Days show as an invitation to explore process ideas.
Documenta 15 is therefore a show that will be experienced very differently depending on when and where you enter it. Nonetheless, here are some images to give an idea of what the show looked like in its early days.
